How do I remove Copilot Preview from my Edge home page?

I launched my Edge browser today and at the top right of the screen was "Copilot Discover Preview" instead of the temperature which is what I prefer. How do I get rid of this and get my temperature back and why does my home page get changed without my changing ? Turning the Copilot Preview off does not get rid of it.

I have the same issue. I had originally removed anything related to "Copilot" from my Windows 10 earlier in the year. Now this shows up. I guess we will have to wait for someone other than the 2 AI-generated answers.

As for Kimberly's answer, it doesn't work because mine is already toggled "Off", including the Content Off.

I found a Google extension which opens a blank page in Edge. It called Custom new tab. Once it's downloaded, it will add https://google on the settings start home page in the box set custom site. It will go down on the page to the new tab page and turn off copilot and preload new tab page. I have had to go back and do it again after an update to Edge. I didn't want anything on the page. I'm getting temperature from the widget on my Taskbar.

I did it,but I'm not sure if I did it correctly. Your instructions stated, if Edge isn't there (which naturally it wasn't) to "Create it". So the next thing I did was : Create DWORD (32-bit):- HubsSidebarEnabled = 0
- Is that what I had to do next or was there something else required to "create Edge"? What I did didn't work and before I even read that email I had I Uninstalled the Co Pilot App and THAT didn't do it. It's an Entity. Get the Team on it.

This reply is to Eileen DeSena, although I doubt she watches this thread anymore.

For one thing, there was a misspelling in that other comment. It's "HubSide...", not "HubsSide...". Note the one S, not two. And for another, the "=0" is not typed. It was simply meant to show that you leave in the Default value of 0. And finally, this entire hack was made obsolete by a later update.

HARD-disable Copilot. This is the single most important fix.

Registry (works on Windows 11 Home & Pro)

Win + R → regedit

Go to:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge
If Edge doesn’t exist, create it

Create DWORD (32-bit):
- HubsSidebarEnabled = 0
Restart Windows

This permanently disables Copilot, hover panels, and sidebar popups. Updates cannot turn it back on.
