This often happens because the pop-up is coming from the browser or a website notification, not from McAfee itself.

Try this:

1. Check whether McAfee is still installed. In Settings > Apps, search for McAfee. If it is still listed, uninstall it.
2. Run a full malware scan with Windows Security / Microsoft Defender.
3. If the pop-ups appear only while browsing, remove suspicious browser notifications:
   • In Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Notifications

6. Update Microsoft Defender before scanning:
   • Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection
   • Under Virus & threat protection updates, select Check for updates
   • Under Threat definitions, select Check for updates
7. If the same threat keeps returning after restart, run Windows Defender Offline scan:
   • Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection
   • Under Current threats, select Scan options
   • Select Windows Defender Offline scan and then Scan now

Important: save work before an offline scan because the PC restarts.
