Additional sign-in or account-related issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Hi Nisha,
I hope you're doing well.
For issues where users are unable to sign in to their accounts, the best next step is to contact your internal IT administrator for assistance. Since this account is managed by your organization's IT team, they have the necessary permissions to review your colleague's account status, verify user access, reset credentials if needed, and make any required configuration changes.
Just to gently clarify before we go any further, independent advisors, including myself, are fellow community members and do not have access to user account settings and cannot assist with logging in, resetting passwords, or changing access rights. While I do not have access to internal systems or administrative tools required to resolve account-specific or backend-related issues, I’ll continue doing my best to support you.
Typically, your admin can:
1/ Review and reset account credentials
If the issue is related to account credentials (such as password or sign‑in status), they can review the account in the Microsoft 365 admin center under User > Active users and reset the password for your account if needed.
2/ Unblock sign-in access
If needed, they can unblock your account by navigating to Microsoft 365 admin center > Users > Active users > select your account > Unblock sign‑in.
3/ Reset MFA settings
In case the issue is MFA‑related (for example, a changed phone, lost device, or reinstalled Authenticator app), they can reset or re‑register your MFA methods by following Microsoft’s guidance for managing MFA for your account. For reference: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID |…. Once your admin completes this process, your previous sign-in sessions will be cleared, and the next time you log in, you will be prompted to set up MFA again from scratch.
If you’re unsure who your Microsoft 365 administrator is, please refer to the following article to identify the correct contact: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support.
I hope the information provided helps guide you in the right direction. Although I’m unable to take direct action, I sincerely hope that the steps and recommendations I’ve shared can support you through the process.
