    Welcome Jay Lee,

I understand how frustrating it can be after changing your Minecraft: Java Edition username, you can no longer join multiplayer servers and receive the error "Not authenticated with minecraft.net."

Before proceeding, I would like to narrow down the issue:

    • Did the issue start immediately after changing the Java Edition username?
    • Are you signed into the Minecraft Launcher with the same Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition?

In the meantime, you can try these steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

Option 1: Sign out and back into the Minecraft Launcher

    • Open Minecraft Launcher
    • Click your profile and select Sign Out
    • Close the launcher completely
    • Sign back in with the Microsoft account that owns Minecraft Java Edition

Option 2: Verify your username change was applied correctly

Option 3: Clear launcher authentication data

    • Close Minecraft Launcher
    • Press Windows + R, type %appdata% and press Enter
    • Open the .minecraft folder
    • Delete the webcache folder if present
    • Launch Minecraft and sign in again

Option 4: Update or reinstall the Minecraft Launcher

    • Open Microsoft Store
    • Check for updates to Minecraft Launcher
    • If already updated, uninstall and reinstall the launcher

I hope the steps above help you deal with your issue.
