Additional meeting and call-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Hi Signa,
Good day.
You can usually access a Microsoft Teams meeting transcript from the meeting chat or the meeting recap. Please follow the steps below:
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Go to Chat.
- Find and open the chat for the meeting that took place yesterday.
- Select Recap.
- Open Transcript.
-
- If the transcript is available and you have the required permission, select Download and choose either .docx or .vtt format.
You can also check from the Teams calendar:
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Go to Calendar.
- Select the meeting from yesterday.
- Select Chat > Recap tab.
- Look for the Transcript section.
The transcript will only be available if transcription was enabled during the meeting. If you do not see the transcript, it may be because transcription was not started during the meeting, the transcript is still processing, you do not have permission to access or download it, it was deleted by the organizer or co-organizer, your organization’s Teams policy restricts access, or you joined as an external or anonymous participant.

If you are not the meeting organizer, please contact the organizer and ask them to confirm whether transcription was enabled and whether they can share the transcript with you.
