Additional meeting and call-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Dear @MineJV-7410,
I understand how frustrating it is when Teams and Outlook display meeting times offset by one hour, especially when all participants are in Sydney or Melbourne and within the same time zone.
This issue typically stems from a Daylight Saving Time (DST) or time zone definition mismatch between the user’s local Windows OS settings, Teams client cache, and the Exchange Online mailbox regional configuration. Microsoft 365 stores all calendar events in UTC. When displaying meetings, the client converts UTC to local time using local DST rules. If any client or mailbox setting lacks the active DST offset rule, meetings appear shifted by exactly one hour.
Please ask the affected users to complete the following steps to resolve the issue:
Step 1: Reset Windows Daylight Saving Time Toggle
- Go to Windows Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time.
- Verify that Time Zone is set to
(UTC+10:00) Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney. - Toggle Adjust for daylight saving time automatically to Off, wait 5 seconds, and toggle it back On.
Step 2: Re-align Outlook Web App (OWA) Mailbox Settings
Even if Outlook Desktop looks correct, the underlying Exchange mailbox profile may be out of sync.
- Log into https://outlook.office.com/mail/
- Click the Gear (Settings) icon > General > Language and time.
- Confirm the Time Zone is explicitly set to
(UTC+10:00) Canberra, Melbourne, Sydneyand click Save.
Step 3: Reset Teams Cache & Language Format
- Fully close Microsoft Teams (Right-click Teams icon in taskbar > Quit).
- Press
Win + R, type%appdata%\Microsoft\Teams(or%localappdata%\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwefor new Teams), and delete the contents to clear the cache. - Relaunch Teams, go to Settings > General, confirm the Language/App region is set to English (Australia), and restart the app.

If multiple users require an automated fix across the tenant, an admin can update the Exchange Online regional configuration directly via PowerShell. For further detailed guidance on configuring regional and time settings in Exchange Online, refer to the official Set-MailboxRegionalConfiguration
