microsoft keeps sending emails to a dead email account i'm deleting

I called the "lack of support phone number" and it keeps being unable to forward anything to a human, which defeats the entire point of a phone number and i'll be forwarding this issue onto relevant parties to try push businesses to have humans.

So, my email that i haven't used and is being deleted is still registered with microsoft systems yet it isn't an account at all and for some reason bing rewards and ms infomails won't allow me to remove it in any way shape or form. While i don't want MS to send email to something that is shutting down with legal names and other possible information that could be used by the next person to make an account on that email.

if anyone else needs this answer

    1. search something like support on the main ms site top right
    2. get to a screen with the LARGE blue bar at the top - i used the contact us search answer
The large blue bar is the important screen
    3. hit show expanded list of products
    4. click get help and support
    5. when you see the we're here to help screen
    6. type anything into that bar
    7. the blue button at the bottom that says contact support will get you into a live chat with a human

This is 7 steps too many for live chat, xbox site has unknown steps and now i need to try with them.
I should be able to go to support / bottom right to live chat with an agent.
2 steps, perfect UX, fast response, let me wait 30 mins on a queue, it's better than this headache.

Also contact your local authority / consumer helper government agency to help force MS to fix this to a faster / better solution for customers, the phone line is useless.

    Hello Last Seeker,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

As I understand, you're worry that the email when it gets recycled will send promotion email regarding your personal information to the new owner. I fully understand that concern, before we proceed further, may I know what is preventing you from unsubscribing from it? If you can still access to the account, you can click on the Unsubscribe button on the bottom of the emails to remove your accounts from it.

    I'm waiting for your reply.
