Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
The callback wait time being experienced cannot be reduced from here and the specific case cannot be accessed, but there are other supported ways to reach Microsoft support without staying on the line indefinitely.
For home users with Microsoft 365, Office, or Windows issues:
- Use the Get Help app (on Windows) or browser-based support
- Open the Get Help app on Windows, or go to the online Get Help experience and select Contact support.
- Choose the relevant product (for example, Microsoft 365 & Office or Windows) and follow the prompts to start a chat or request another call back.
- Use the Microsoft 365/Office support options
- For Microsoft 365 for home:
- Search the online help.
- Ask in the Microsoft Community.
- Use the Get Help app or browser to contact support and open a new support interaction if the current callback is not working.
- For Microsoft 365 for home:
- Use the general Microsoft Support “Get Help” entry point
- Go to the main Microsoft Support “Get Help” entry point for home users: Get Help.
- Describe the problem; the system will either provide self-help or connect to chat or a new callback. If the current callback is stalled, this path can be used to initiate a fresh contact.
- If the issue is specifically Office-related and a Microsoft 365 admin account is available (for business scenarios)
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center, select Support > Help and support, enter the question, and select Contact support to open a new case or follow up.
If the current callback has exceeded a reasonable wait and hanging up is necessary, using the Get Help app or the online Get Help links above is the supported way to re-establish contact with an agent without remaining on hold.
