Outlook Mail account locked

My personal mail account is locked (apparently due to suspicious activity, I assume I was using a VPN when I tried to login) ...

I tried to go through the standard reset-loop with the questionnaire multiple times not but always with the result of having provided to little information for an unlock. The secondary mail provided is from my university time and doesnt exist anymore and I am uncertain which personal information i provided in my outlook account (i dont see why my mail-provider needs my proper address or date of birth so i often provide fake information (e.g. 01.01.1990) and zip code 12345.

I was completely unsuccessful to reach any human so far, all help-lines, FAQs etc either didnt help at all or pointed me back to the reset form which doesnt work for me.

I have my password (stored in a keepass so I know i am providing the proper one) and I roughly know which mails i send/receive from that account. Is there any chance i can get my account unlocked and if so, what is it?

Really desperate for help ... I used this account exclusively for important mails and need access again.

Grateful for any helpful hints or support :)

    Hi Fabian S,

When an account is locked for suspicious activity (VPN logins are a common trigger) and the recovery form can't verify enough matching details, the system relies entirely on the automated account recovery process, there is unfortunately no human review or manual override, even for moderators or Microsoft support agents. This is by design to protect accounts from social engineering.

To improve your chances of passing it, you can check it here: Help with the Microsoft account recovery form

Note: please enter the exact same information you originally provided when creating the account, even if some of it wasn't accurate at the time. The system checks for consistency with what's on file, not real-world accuracy. If you're unsure about a field, it's better to leave it blank than to guess incorrectly — wrong answers can lower your score more than missing ones.

Sadly, if multiple ACSR attempts continue to fail and there's no working alternate email/phone on the account, recovery may not be possible — Microsoft genuinely cannot bypass this. I wish I had better news on that front, but I'd rather be honest with you than give false hope.

Please give it one more careful try with the tips above, and let me know how it goes.

    Warm regards, Chloe
