Teams Account Invitation Designation

I have received an invitation to a Teams call and when I try to enter it automatically goes to my USM account which is no longer active. How can I get it to automatically go to my [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]@cox.net account?

    Based on your description, this usually happens because Microsoft Teams is still signed in with the old account, so the meeting link opens with that profile by default. 

    Technically, a meeting can be joined from a different account by selecting Change on the pre-join screen, adding another account if needed, or joining without signing in.     Therefore, to help change to your target account, please try the following: 

    1. Sign out of the inactive USM account in Microsoft Teams, then reopen the meeting link. 
    2. If the meeting opens in the pre-join screen, look for the Change option near the top and select the account you want to use.

    If the meeting was originally sent only to the inactive USM account, the organizer may need to resend the invitation to your ******@xxx.net address or allow guest or external access for the meeting.

    To stop Teams from automatically using the old USM account and use the cox.net account instead, adjust which account is signed in and how the meeting is joined.

    1. Sign out of or remove the old USM account
      • In the Teams app (desktop or web), sign out of the old USM work/school account.
      • If using a browser, open an InPrivate/Incognito window before joining, so cached sign-ins from the old account are not reused.
