Just over a year ago, Caitlin Clark was preparing to embark on her rookie season in the WNBA with the Indiana Fever, less than one month after being selected with the No. 1 pick in the draft.

Folks already know about Caitlin Clark's popularity, but the WNBA might have discovered its newest television ratings bump in 2025 top overall draft pick Paige Bueckers. According to a report from Front Office Sports,

The WNBA season is underway, and fans and card collectors are excited for what's to come. With the likes of Caitlin Clark, A’Ja Wilson and newcomer Paige Bueckers, collectors are waiting for the first cards of the season to drop.

Bueckers put up 19.9 points on 53.4% overall shooting and 41.9% from 3-point land, 4.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game last season for UConn. She is a very adept and efficient three-level scorer, and her offensive game has been compared to that of Diana Taurasi, who won three WNBA titles and three NCAA titles at UConn.

Paige Bueckers impressed in her WNBA debut but a fellow UConn legend stole the spotlight and handed her a tough first loss.

Former UConn star and No. 1 overall draft pick Paige Bueckers will be making her WNBA debut in Dallas against the Minnesota Lynx, a team that made it to the 2024 WNBA Finals and is expected to be dangerous again this year. The game is set for Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
