Fortnite was banned from the Apple App Store in 2020, but was allowed back last year, according to Reuters, following pressure from European Union authorities to be sure it aligned with the Digital Markets Act, an EU regulation aimed at making the digital economy fair.

After years of being away due to a legal battle with Apple, Fortnite announces that the battle royale is available in the iOS App Store in the US.

The legal battle culminated on May 1, 2025, when a judge ruled against Apple, ordering the company to stop imposing commissions on in-app purchases via web links. Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney celebrated the decision, promising Fortnite would return to the App Store within a week.
