The Memphis Police Department is investigating two separate shootings in the South Memphis neighborhood on Friday morning, one being fatal. The MPD confirmed that officers first responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 400 block of East Georgia Avenue around 5:50 a.

Police said the man admitted to not yet having his security license and said that he thought he saw a man waving a gun inside the car, leading him to shoot at the vehicle as it sped away.
