After years of grappling with a migrant crisis, Massachusetts officials plan to close all emergency state shelters in hotels and motels in the state this summer, Gov. Maura Healey said Monday.

Governor Maura Healey had previously directed hotel shelters to close by the end of 2025, but said in a statement that the plan is now six months “ahead of schedule.”
