MINNEAPOLIS — Monday’s series opener between the Guardians and Twins entered a rain delay at 8:13 p.m. EST with two out in the bottom of the second inning and Minnesota holding a 2-1 lead. Update: The tarp is off the field. No official re-start time has been given.

Travis Bazzana could be out until mid-July or later because of an oblique injury. Bazzana was the No. 1 overall pick of the 2024 MLB Draft.

Following a near-week-long road trip, the Detroit Tigers are back at Comerica Park this weekend for a four-game series against the rival Cleveland Guardians.

MINNEAPOLIS — Guardians top draft pick Travis Bazzana will miss about two months with an internal oblique strain, the team announced Tuesday. Bazzana, 22, suffered the injury May 14 during a game against the Chesapeake Baysox in Bowie, MD. He underwent an MRI this week and was diagnosed with the strain by Cleveland’s physician group.
