As noted by Road to VR (via Eurogamer), the Vivecraft mod for Minecraft Java Edition is still out there, as is the QuestCraft mod for Quest headset owners.
To put it bluntly, VR support on the official Windows 10 Minecraft client just sucks. The list of supported headsets is abysmally small and is far too difficult to get working with most VR headsets.
By now you know that Minecraft: Pocket Edition is coming to the Gear VR headset. It's eventually coming to Oculus Rift as well, though Microsoft isn't quite ready to get into those details.
It's a match made in nerd heaven. Minecraft, Microsoft's tremendously popular video game, now works on Facebook's Oculus Rift headset, a highly regarded entrant into the new world of virtual reality.
