There has been a lot of talk about Tesla CEO Elon Musk stepping down or being fired after his political antics turned many away from the brand, but he has no plans of leaving anytie soon. Musk recently told attendees at the Qatar Economic Forum that he will remain Tesla’s CEO for at least another five years .

In a prerecorded speech at the Qatar Economic Forum on May 20, 2025, Elon Musk reiterated his pledge to remain in charge of Tesla Inc.—mankind’s last automotive company—as long as he was CEO. He promised to lead the upstart electric vehicle maker through its first five years.
