President Donald Trump has said that Qatar is "donating" its Boeing 747 to the U.S. and not to him personally, as the fallout from the potential transaction continues. On Sunday, reports emerged that Trump was to accept the Boeing 747-8, which will be retrofitted with state-of-the-art security and communications to serve as Air Force One.

Sen. John Kennedy, a stalwart supporter of President Donald Trump, does not seem to be a huge fan of this whole “accept a $400 million flying palace from Qatar’s ruling family and upgrade it into a new Air Force One” plan.

The gift raises questions about the scope of laws that are intended to thwart corruption and improper influence, legal experts said.
