Listings in Ottawa County moved briskly, at a median 36 days listed compared to the April national median of 50 days on the market. In the previous month, homes had a median of 39 days on the market. Around 302 homes were newly listed on the market in April, a 6.8% decrease from 324 new listings in April 2024.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An additional two tornadoes have been confirmed in Barry and Ottawa counties from Thursday’s storms. According to the National Weather Service, an EF1 tornado touched down in Barry County near Heron Pointe. The tornado had estimated winds around 100 miles per hour and stayed on the ground for 6.75 miles.

Two more tornadoes were confirmed to have touched down in West Michigan on Thursday, according to the NWS. This brings our count up to 8 in our area.

GRAND HAVEN TWP., MI – Four people were injured in a crash Saturday afternoon when a pickup ran a red light in Ottawa County. Rescue crews were called at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17, to the intersection of U.S. 31 and Hayes Street in Grand Haven Township for a report of a rollover crash with injuries, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

In a May 15 filing to the tribunal, Ottawa said it has made “intensive and meaningful efforts” to reform the system since 2016 — when the tribunal concluded that the federal government had discriminated against First Nations children by underfunding the on-reserve child welfare system.
