In a statement, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said NOAA has “never been more prepared for hurricane season,” pointing to “advanced weather models and cutting-edge hurricane tracking systems” that should provide Americans with real-time storm forecasts and warnings.

The National Hurricane Center continues to keep an eye on a tropical wave that is now in the central Atlantic as it moves west. The wave moved off the coast of Africa earlier this week. No tropical cyclone activity is expected over the next seven days as we approach the official start of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season on June 1.
