Storm surveys are underway following a night of severe weather across North Texas. As of Monday afternoon, at least one tornado has been confirmed near the City of Gordon, located about 66 miles west of Fort Worth. Gordon ISD canceled classes for the week due to extensive damage on campus from the storms.

However, the weather service cautioned that “all NOAA Radio transmitters maintained by NWS Birmingham will be off the air through the time of the install.” This includes these transmitters: Winfield, Oneonta, Birmingham, Anniston, Tuscaloosa, Demopolis, Selma, Montgomery, Auburn and Texasville.

NWS said the tornado touched down along Bunger Road in western Union County. It then moved east, the tornado intensified, doing EF3 damage to several homes.
