The Pittsburgh Pirates have one of the best pitchers in baseball, but have done little to convince him to remain with them beyond his current contract.

The New York Yankees will have to wait in their pursuit of Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes, according to a new report from Ken Rosenthal.

Amid this news, Tim Kelly of Bleacher Report predicted the Pirates will be sellers at this year's deadline, but not with Skenes. "There may come a day when the Pirates have to entertain the possibility of trading Paul Skenes, but things aren't yet there," he wrote.
