Intense negotiations are underway among House Republicans in the leadup to a crucial vote Sunday evening as GOP leadership races to get Trump’s sweeping tax and spending cuts bill back on track after an embarrassing setback late last week.

A group of fiscal hard-liners on the Budget Committee blocked the bill Friday morning. The group will try again to pass the president’s megabill out of committee Sunday night.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said Sunday that Republicans are still “on track” to pass the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” by the “end of the week,” after opposition from some GOP hard-liners and moderates kept the measure from advancing on Friday.

Many taxpayers could see even more money in their pockets in coming years under a sweeping tax and spending cuts package that House Republicans hope to finalize before Memorial Day.
