Arkansas senior first baseman Bri Ellis has been selected as a Top Three Finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award, the organization announced Monday.

Arkansas was struggling to break through against the Oklahoma State pitching duo of ace Ruby Meylan and right-hander RyLee Crandall before Rijo shot a solo home run to right field that pulled the Razorbacks within 5-2. Rijo’s homer seemed to alleviate some pressure for the rest of the lineup.

Coach Patty Gasso and the second-seeded OU softball team will host the 15th-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend in the NCAA super regionals. The Crimson Tide (40-21) took two of three games against the Sooners (48-7) in Tuscaloosa earlier this season.
