DevOps specialist GitLab has officially taken over the control of a GitLab extension for Microsoft's open source, cross-platform Visual Studio Code editor.

It steps through installing git, Java, Kick Assembler, and Visual Studio Code. Beyond that, it even explains how to use these tools in partnership with VICE – the Versatile Commodore Emulator.

GitLab's strategy is to integrate AI more closely into the development platform. The Duo Agent Platform in Visual Studio is now available as a beta.
