Microsoft just threw down the gauntlet on the tech industry by committing to a significant change in policy. They will no longer bundle their Teams and Office products together globally. The tech giant is currently under antitrust investigation by the European Union (EU).

Sabastian Niles, Salesforce’s president and chief legal officer, mentioned that the European Commission’s announcement Friday affirmed that Microsoft’s anticompetitive practices with Teams have harmed competition. He said the company required a binding, enforceable, and effective remedy and promised to scrutinize Microsoft’s proposed commitments.

EU has published Microsoft proposal to unbundling Microsoft Teams and in a month, it will be decided if MS will face more penalties or not.
