A violent, tornado-spawning storm system tore across the central US, leaving at least 25 people dead in Missouri and southeastern Kentucky as it cut a path of destruction through several states.

At least 27 people have been killed after a series of powerful tornadoes tore through multiple states on Friday, according to the Associated Press. In Kentucky, at least 18 people were killed by severe weather.

Another round of potentially severe storms is expected Sunday evening. A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Johnson, Parker, Tarrant and Hood counties until 10:15 p.m.Strong hail is moving through Tarrant County as the severe storm cell heads east.

North Texas continues to experience severe weather, with repeated storms bringing large hail and damaging winds. More storms are expected Sunday and Monday, with similar conditions anticipated.
