Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson now has a clear path to play flag football at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, but whether or not he actually chooses to play is a different question entirely.

The WSJ predicts Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes to be the quarterback. Since countries can only bring 10 players on their roster, versatility is key. Bringing Jackson, letting him run the ball and then also having him as a secondary passer, and a fill-in if Mahomes were to get hurt, makes a ton of sense.

The NFL views flag football as "the future" of the sport. It's no surprise, then, that NFL owners are set to approve some form of player participation in the 2028 Olympics, when flag football is scheduled to make its debut as a Summer Games competition.
