The East Grand Forks Senior High softball team pulled off two upsets Thursday at the Minnesota Section 8AA tournament in Glyndon, Minn. The No. 6 Green Wave beat No. 3 Menahga 2-1 in a second-round matchup, then knocked off the home team and No. 1 Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in a third-round game.

The youth baseball and softball fields in Burke are receiving a significant, and much-needed facelift, thanks in large part to a $15,000 matching grant from the Minnesota Twins Community Fund. Burke received the grant from the Twins' Fields for Kids program.

The Nuggets finished the regular season with a head-turning 19-1 overall record and enter the Minnesota Section 8-2A tournament as the No. 1 seed. Hawley hosts No. 8 Thief River Falls at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, weather permitting.
