Fans and more in the hockey community have rallied to support Winnipeg Jets center Mark Scheifele, as the Winnipeg Jets' charitable foundation has received over $30,000 in donations in honor of Scheifele's father.

Just hours after his father unexpectedly passed away, Mark Scheifele stepped out onto the ice to play for the Winnipeg Jets in their must-win Game 6 of their second-round playoff series against the Dallas Stars.

The 32-year-old was doing the unthinkable of playing in a playoff game, several hours after his father, Brad, had passed away overnight on Friday. Scheifele played Game 6 against the Dallas Stars to honor his father, and even scored the game's first goal in the second period.
