The Los Angeles Rams and the Indianapolis Colts, despite being franchises in different parts of the country, have a shared history through history-making transactions, transactions orchestrated by the Colts' late owner Jim Irsay.
The last time the eccentric Indianapolis Colts owner spoke to the local media about the state of his team was in July 2024. As had become a yearly routine, Irsay arrived at Colts training camp in a suit and sunglasses, oozing with reckless optimism, as he addressed reporters from his golf cart.
Jim Irsay, the man who led the Colts out of irrelevancy and made Indianapolis into a football city, died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 65 on Wednesday afternoon, according to an announcement from the team.
Through his love for football, classic rock and, most of all, Indianapolis, Irsay left an indelible impression and turned the Hoosier State into a football hotbed.
