A key House committee has approved a sweeping spending bill, sending it to the full House for consideration after more than 24 straight hours of hearings.

The House is gearing up for a long overnight session as Republicans plow ahead with the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" after the House Rules Committee advanced a revised version of the megabill supporting President Donald Trump's second-term agenda.

The amendment to the package, which advanced out of the Rules Committee, includes speeding up Medicaid work requirements and expanding the state and local tax deduction.

A key committee worked through the night on the legislation as Republican leaders sought agreement from various party factions.

The money was a major win for Gov. Greg Abbott and other Texas Republicans who have been pushing for the money to be included in President Trump's tax

The House may vote on his "big beautiful bill" soon, and Trump needs the support of almost all Republicans for it to pass.
