Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Have you tested whether the keyboard works properly when connected to another device?

This will help determine whether the problem is with the keyboard or with the Bluetooth settings.

Since the mouse is working properly over Bluetooth, the keyboard is probably the issue.

    • If the wireless keyboard comes with a USB dongle, plug it in, ensure the batteries are inserted, and make sure the keyboard is powered on.
    • Once the USB dongle is plugged in, Windows should automatically detect the keyboard and add it to the list of devices.

That way, we can at least confirm that the keyboard is working.

If you are still having issues,

*Share the model of your Dell Keyboard.

Then, see if you can pair and connect it with another device successfully. (if you have one).

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Make sure the keyboard is actually ready to pair.
      • Confirm the Dell keyboard supports Bluetooth.
      • Make sure it is turned on.
      • Make sure it has fresh batteries or is charged.
      • Put the keyboard into pairing mode and keep it close to the laptop.
    2. If Windows asks for a PIN:
      • Check the keyboard documentation or the keyboard itself for the PIN.
      • If no PIN is shown, try 0000 or 1234.
      • If Windows asks for a PIN but no box appears on screen, type 0000 on the Bluetooth keyboard and press Enter.
    3. Remove the keyboard from Bluetooth devices and add it again.
      • In Windows 11: Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
      • Find the keyboard, select More options (...) > Remove device.
      • Select Add device and choose the keyboard again.
    4. Restart Bluetooth on the laptop.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
      • Turn Bluetooth off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it on again.
      • Try pairing the keyboard again.
    5. Check the keyboard battery level.
      • Low battery can prevent pairing or connection.
      • Charge it fully or replace the batteries, then turn it off and back on.
    6. Check for Windows updates.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
      • Select Check for updates and install any available updates.
    7. If the keyboard still will not connect, restart the PC.
      • Select Start > Power > Restart.
    8. If Bluetooth is missing or still behaves incorrectly, reinstall the Bluetooth adapter.
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Bluetooth.
      • Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Uninstall device.
      • Shut down the PC, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on so Windows reinstalls the driver.
      • If it does not reinstall automatically, open Device Manager and use Action > Scan for hardware changes.
      • Note: the latest Bluetooth driver might also be available from the PC manufacturer.
    9. If the issue is only with the keyboard, test the keyboard on another PC if possible.
      • If it does not work there either, the keyboard may need to be replaced.

Since the mouse is already working over Bluetooth, the laptop Bluetooth radio is at least functioning, so the most likely next steps are: put the keyboard into pairing mode again, remove and re-add it, and try the PIN steps if prompted.
