how can you fix the profile button on the elite controller 2 core

I've been using it for years, and then it started acting up. I couldn't use my back paddles anymore, and when I hit the button for my profiles, it does nothing. But when I hit it twice, I change to the first profile; then it goes to no profile, and for the other profiles, I tried everything to fix it, and I don't know why it keeps doing this
