All of my Teams tabs are gray, and I would like to differentiate them. How can I change the color for each Team?

    Hi EVA,

I greatly appreciate you sharing your experience and I truly understand your concern.

As of now, after testing, I can confirm there isn't a setting that allows you to choose a custom color for each Team/class icon or tab. In Microsoft documentation Find your class team's settings in Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Support, it only lists an option to change Teams/class avatar but I can't find any notes about changing custom color in Teams/class tab.

I understand this isn’t the outcome you were hoping for. As a forum user, I don’t have the visibility into internal design/structure or the ability to modify how the product behaves. I can only help confirm how the product behaves based on my experience and ensure you have clear information.

If you see this feature should be improved or this is affecting your workflow, I strongly recommend submitting your feedback through the official feedback portal Teams · Community. The product development team doesn't actively monitor this forum, so this is the most effective way to ensure your voice reaches the product team and can be considered for future improvements.

Once you've submitted your feedback, feel free to share the link here in the comments. I’ll be happy to upvote it to help bring more visibility.

Additionally, as other users have raised similar concerns and may not be aware of where to share their feedback, I hope this response helps clarify the situation and suggests a potential next step. Highlighting this information can make it more visible to others in the community who may be facing the same issue, making it easier for them to find guidance and contribute their feedback as well.

Thank you again for your time and for raising this important usability concern.

Teams does not provide a way to change the color of each Team or channel tab individually. The available appearance options are theme-based, not per-Team color customization.

    What can be changed:

    1. In Teams, select the profile picture or Settings and more in the top-right.
    2. Go to Settings > General.
    3. Under Theme, select High contrast if a darker, higher-contrast view helps distinguish the interface better.

If the goal is to make tabs easier to tell apart, Teams currently keeps those colors consistent across the app rather than allowing custom tab colors.

For Teams app development scenarios, Microsoft recommends using standard Teams colors and theme tokens so apps stay consistent across light, dark, and high-contrast themes, rather than applying custom colors to large surfaces.
