Additional settings-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Good day Eleni,
Thank you for sharing your concern.
Based on Microsoft documentation, the latest Teams version is 26198.304.4946.9672, released on July 31. Currently, I haven't found any public documentation or official announcement confirming that the anonymous user dropdown is a newly released Teams feature.
I tested the Q&A experience in Teams on the web, the Windows desktop app and Teams for Android. In all cases, the anonymous posting option appeared as the Anonymous toggle.
Regarding your question, there is currently no tenant level setting that can force all users to have the exact same Teams interface or feature experience. Teams is a cloud service and Microsoft gradually rolls out features and UI changes. Because of this, users in the same tenant and on the same Teams version may temporarily see different experiences.
If you want to maintain the most consistent and stable experience possible across your organization, you may want to review your Microsoft 365 release preferences:
Open the Microsoft 365 admin center > Select Settings > Org settings > Open Organization profile > Select Release preferences.
Choose the release option that best fits your organization's requirements:
Standard Release for the most stable and broadly deployed experience.
Targeted Release for earlier access to upcoming features and changes.
Then select Save.
For additional information, please refer to the following documentation: Set up the Standard or Targeted release options for Microsoft 365 - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn
If the difference continues to affect users and you would like further investigation, you may consider opening a Microsoft Support ticket:
- In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Go to Support > Help & Support.
- Turn off the "Support Assistant" feature.
- Use the keyword "Support" to quickly bypass automated suggestions > Select Contact Support.
- In the ticket description, please clearly describe the issue. You can also attach screenshots or screen recordings.
- Additionally, sharing your preferred contact times may help the support team handle the case more efficiently.
A technical support engineer can perform a remote session to investigate the situation, verify the backend configurations, and run any necessary synchronization tools to resolve the problem. If the issue requires further attention, they can escalate it to a specialized team for deeper analysis.
I hope this information is helpful. If you have any questions or need further support, please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
