Microphone on logi HD1080p camera not working

I swapped a motherboard on an office Windows 11 workstation. Everything works fine with this motherboard except for the microphone on the logitech HD1080p camera. The camera itself does work. This camera/mic worked fine with the previous motherboard. A camera worked fine with this motherboard when in a different computer. In Device Manager the microphone driver is listed as "C615 HD WebCam", not HD1080p. So, I removed that driver, then rebooted. When it came back up the same C615 drive reappeared.

Per a web suggestion I tried changing the camera to a different USB port and powering off/on. That didn't help.

I also tried running the 'Sound Recorder' app, but it said, "No Audio Input available."

What else can I do to get this microphone to work? Thanks

Since the camera works but Windows reports No Audio Input available, focus on microphone privacy, input selection, and driver re-detection.

    1. Check microphone privacy in Windows 11:
      • Go to Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone.
      • Turn on Microphone access.
      • Turn on Let apps access your microphone.
      • Turn on Let desktop apps access your microphone.
      • If the webcam includes a microphone, also go to Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Camera and make sure Camera is turned on.
    2. Check whether Windows can see any input device:
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      • Under Input, select the microphone if it appears.
      • Use Start test, speak normally, then Stop test and Play to verify capture.
      • If no microphone appears there, Windows is still not detecting the webcam microphone as an input device.
    3. Force hardware re-detection in Device Manager:
      • Try the webcam in a different USB port again.
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Look under Sound, video and game controllers for audio devices.
      • If the webcam audio device is missing or incorrect, select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
      • Restart the PC and test again.
    4. Reinstall the audio device driver:
      • In Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      • Right-click the webcam-related audio device and select Uninstall device.
      • Select the checkbox to remove the driver for the device, then uninstall.
      • Restart the computer.
      • If Windows does not reinstall it automatically, return to Device Manager and select Scan for hardware changes.
      • Then right-click the audio driver and select Update driver.
    5. If the webcam is external, rule out port-level detection issues:
      • Connect it to another USB port.
      • If needed, test it on another device to confirm the microphone hardware still enumerates correctly.

The C615 HD WebCam name by itself does not confirm a failure. The more important symptom is that Windows shows no audio input device. If the microphone still does not appear after privacy checks, uninstall/reinstall, scan for hardware changes, and driver update, Windows is not detecting the webcam microphone portion correctly on that workstation.
