    Hi ga,

Since it fails identically on desktop and web, it rules out a local app/cache issue, this is a server-side policy or licensing setting tied to the account, not something that will fix itself with a reinstall.

First, please go to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Users > Active users > select your account > Licenses and apps.

Ensure your license is checked and assigned. You can also uncheck it, save the changes, and then recheck it to force a license refresh.

If the issue persists, you can move on to the next step.

Please navigate to Teams admin center with your admin credentials:

    1. Go to Users > find this account > Policies tab, and note which Meeting policy is assigned (often "Global (Org-wide default)" unless a custom one exists)

    2. Go to Meetings > Meeting policies > open that policy
    3. Under Audio & video, confirm IP video is set to On. If it's off, that alone explains a missing video icon everywhere, on every client.

However, if you still don't have video access after verifying your configuration, However, the best next step is creating a support ticket through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Support > Help & Support to have Microsoft Support agent assist you in this regard.Turn off the "Support Assistant" feature.

Use the keyword "Support" to quickly bypass automated suggestions > Select Contact Support.

In the ticket description, please clearly describe the issue, including any error messages or codes and the steps you’ve already tried. You can also attach screenshots or screen recordings. Additionally, sharing your preferred contact times may help the support team handle the case more efficiently.

A technical support engineer can perform a remote session to investigate the situation, verify the backend configurations, and run any necessary synchronization tools to resolve the problem. If the issue requires further attention, they can escalate it to a specialized team for deeper analysis.

If you have any questions or need further support, please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time.

    1. The video icon is not even available. I have a personal hotmail account which is the basis essentials and that account has the video icon available but my meeting time is limited since it is basic. I have the business essentials subsription for my work email but the video meeting is not available as mentioned above.
    2. Audio calling and chat work fine.
    3. I was able to do a meeting with it a month or so ago when I first upgraded the subscription but not since.
    4. I'm the only one with business essentials (small office)
    5. The same issue with the Teams on the Web.

    Hi ga,

In order to help me understand the video meeting issue further , could you clarify a few things:

    1. When you try to start a video meeting, what exactly happens?
      • Does the Teams app or meeting window fail to open at all?
      • Does the meeting start, but the video option just won't turn on?
      • Is the video call button greyed out/unclickable?
      • Do you see a specific error message on screen? If so, could you send a screenshot or the exact wording?
    2. Does audio-only calling or chat work fine on the same account, or are those affected too?
    3. Does this happen for every meeting (new and scheduled), or only in certain ones?
    4. Is this happening for just your account, or have other users in your organization reported the same issue?
    5. Did you encounter the same issue when using Teams on the web?

Once I have a clearer understanding of your current situation, I’ll be happy to assist you with greater accuracy. Please feel free to share any additional details you believe are relevant. Screenshots are especially helpful and much appreciated.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out.

I'm looking forward to your reply.
