Error 0x80070005 when updating Windows to 29639.1000 for 6 times, together with CrossDeviceResume.exe incorrect parameter

I'm a Windows 11 Insider Preview member and I'm in 26H1(Future Platforms). I'm trying to update my laptop's OS from 29617.1000 to 29634.1000/29639.1000, but it returns 0x80070005 for 6 consecutive times, which means access is denied. I've ran the Windows Update troubleshooter and tried the methods it provided, together with methods I got from asking other AIs and reading articles, including running DISM and SFC, using ExecTI to change privileges for system folders, etc, but situation only gets worse. After rebooting, an error saying "CrossDeviceResume.exe has incorrect parameters" appeared on the screen, which means I've accidentally broken a system file, and I can't get rid of it. I know that this update renews my WIP certificate, so I'm worried that my Windows would not be usable after the certificate expires on Aug 11th. Also, I'm afraid of losing my own data, so I'm not willing to use an ISO, though I've already downloaded it as the ultimate backup plan. Are there any ways to update my OS safely without using an ISO?

    I can assure you, as an Advisor, that all of your files will remain intact. I suggest this method to users daily.

    I have one last question: how long will the update last if I use the ISO? I'm expecting 30-60 minutes, is my expectation right?

    Typically 60 minutes, rest depends on your data.

    Hi,

    I will help you with this - there is a correction in your statement which has the answer.

    lso, I'm afraid of losing my own data, so I'm not willing to use an ISO,

    Once you use the ISO and run the Setup.exe file from Windows itself, it will give you an option to keep your files, apps and settings, just similar to Windows update.

    You can confirm that by seeing the confirmation beside "Keep files, apps and settings" before reboot.

    If the checkbox is greyed out kindly let me know.
