Hi
I'm going to submit my Teams tab app for certification

Our Teams mobile tab app requires our company native mobile app to make a call.

However, our development schedule, we haven't uploaded our app to Google Play / Apple AppStore yet.
Therefore, could you review our tab app using our native mobile installed via Google Internal Testing or Apple TestFlight?

Many thanks
BH

Dear @Byunghee Sohn,

I understand that your Teams mobile tab app depends on a native mobile app that is currently distributed through Google Internal Testing or Apple TestFlight, and you would like to know if Microsoft can conduct certification testing using these pre-release builds.

Yes, the Microsoft Teams App Validation team can review and certify your app using builds provided via Google Internal Testing or Apple TestFlight.

To avoid validation delays and ensure our review team can access your native application, please prepare your submission in Partner Center with the following steps:

  1. Provide Tester Access Instructions:
    • In the Notes for Certification section in Partner Center, explicitly state that your Teams tab app relies on a native mobile app.
    • Provide an external TestFlight public invite link or directly invite the Microsoft review team email alias (provided in Partner Center) to your TestFlight build.
    • Provide a Google Play Internal Testing shareable opt-in link and make sure access is set to allow the review team (or set the testing track visibility so anyone with the link/email can join).
  2. Supply Working Test Credentials:
    • Provide fully functional demo account credentials (username and password) so reviewers can sign in to both the Teams tab app and your native mobile app.
    • Ensure backend services, deep links, and APIs invoked by your tab app are active and reachable during the review process.
  3. Declare Dependencies in App Metadata:

While the validation team can complete the technical review using TestFlight or Google Internal Testing builds, your native app must be publicly available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store before your Teams app is published to end users. If end users cannot download the prerequisite native app from a public store, the Teams app will fail the final store release check. If you have any updates or further questions, please feel free to reply here. I’ll do my best to support you however I can.
