Scenario:

Our data source is Snowflake, which is owned and managed by our organization (vendor).

We plan to publish a Power BI report from our Power BI tenant. The client needs to access and view this report using their own Microsoft 365 (Office 365) email accounts from their environment.

Requirement:

We would like to understand the most secure approach to enable external client users to access the Power BI report while ensuring that they have view-only access.

Specifically, we want to ensure that external users:

Can view only the shared Power BI report.
Cannot access our Power BI tenant beyond the shared content.
Cannot view our organization's user directory, user list, or Azure AD/Entra ID information.
Cannot access Microsoft Teams, chats, SharePoint, or any other Microsoft 365 resources in our tenant.
Are restricted from any administrative or collaborative features within our environment.

Could you please recommend the best practice or supported Microsoft approach (such as Azure AD B2B/Entra External Collaboration, Power BI Guest Access, or any other secure method) to meet these requirements? and please suggest any other method

Based on the requirements you've outlined, Microsoft Entra B2B External Collaboration (Guest Access) combined with Power BI sharing/App sharing is generally considered the Microsoft-recommended approach for securely providing external users access to Power BI content while allowing them to sign in with their own Microsoft 365 accounts.

In this model, external users can be granted access only to the specific reports, dashboards, or apps you choose to share.
