Issue with SAP WEBCUIF compatibility with browser (chromium) version

Hi Microsoft Support,

We as SAP customer are facing issue with recent browser update in March 2026. SAP has provided a workaround to solve the issue which is as below:

Set #enable-benchmarking flag to Default Feature States.

But problem with this workaround is that this flag value doesn't stay stable for long time. It resets itself to disabled state quite frequently. Is there any way we can include this flag under group policy? or is there any other way to make the value stable so that users don't have to set it again and again.

Users are on Windows 10 / 11. Browser version: 150.0.4078.105 (Official build) (64-bit)

Pease advise.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Unfortunately, the flags in the Edge are meant for testing and can be reverted by many events. Since the features is not yet implemented, there is currently no Group Policy for it.

In this case, you can instead try to alter the launch option of the apps by adding msedge.exe --enable-features=<FeatureName> to the launch path.

Also, may I know the issue that you are having with SAP website?

The issue with our CRM (WEBCUIF IC) website is that, during some actions like searching and displaying information like order number etc. the browser just hangs with a never ending spinning wheel saying "Please wait". This seems to be a known issue which SAP has acknowledged as below:

Symptom

Web UI experiences various issues with the latest version of Chrome and Edge Browsers

When selecting a value in pop-up window, the Please Wait wheel keeps spinning and ends with a 500 error.

Browser window freezing issues occur

Other performance and pop up issues can occur with after Chrome or Edge browser version gets updated.

Reproducing the Issue

Install the latest version of Chrome or Edge browser

Access the Web UI, open a pop up, and select a value from that Pop up

After the pop up closes, spinning wheel appears on the Web UI and the screen freezes.

Other similar issues can occur where the browser window eventually freezes

Also, SAP has provided us this, but not sure if it can stabilize the value of the experimental flags:

Microsoft provides a policy to enable the unload event. Please refer to the following link for details:

As this is a Microsoft workaround, please contact Microsoft directly for any questions regarding the implementation of this policy.

As I see, you can follow this. However, I'm not really sure if it will stabilize the behavior, since experimental features are subjected to changes. Even when the features become official, the experimental features will also be removed and the settings get reverted before you choose a new one.

Just want to check, does altering the launch path works?

Hi Carl,

I tried launching SAP website with enable feature option like { https://sap.<domain>.com/irj/portal?msedge.exe --enable-features="Enable benchmarking"} but it is not working. Please let me know if the syntaxt is correct for passing the feature value.

I also tried setting up registry entry as mentioned in "https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies/forcepermissionpolicyunloaddefaultenabled", without restart. But still noted the feature value goes away after 2 times. Do I need to restart the machine after registry entry change? I just relaunched Edge after change.

Please advise.

Okay. I just tried after restarting my PC, but no luck. The feature value is going back to its default value after 2 restarts of Edge browser. Please refer attached screenshot.enable_benchmarking_flag.JPG

The auto disable trigger is actually hardcoded into the Chromium base core itself, so usually browser cannot bypass this. However, as I checked your launch path maybe wrong, can you please use "msedge.exe --enable-benchmarking" instead to see if it works?
