Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
Hi Kurt,
Based on your sharing, this is likely an issue microphone input, permission or Teams device selection issue. In this case, I suggest you try these in order:
1/ Check if Teams is muted
- In the Teams meeting windows, look at the microphone icon
- If it has a slash through it, it means your mic is muted > click it to unmute
2/ Select the correct microphone inside Teams
- Open Microsoft Teams and click the three dots (...) on the top right > Settings
- Select Devices > under Microphone, choose the correct microphone in the dropdown > Make a test call to see if the microphone works properly
3/ Allow microphone access in your OS
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > scroll down and select Microphone
- Turn on "Microphone access", "Let apps access your microphone" and "Let desktop apps access your microphone".
- Ensure the Microsoft Team is set as ON in the listed apps
Please understand that my initial response doesn't always resolve the issue immediately, but you can give it a try and let me know whether it works.
