Troubleshooting website display or functionality issues in Edge on Windows 10
Hi Jack Jackson,
Thank you for providing those details. I understand that when you select Download on your own website, Microsoft Edge displays "This page has been blocked by Microsoft Edge" and prevents the file from downloading.
Before troubleshooting further, I want to mention that Windows 10 has already reached end of support (EOS). Microsoft no longer provides free security updates, bug fixes or technical support for Windows 10. While this may not be the direct cause of the issue, troubleshooting results on an unsupported operating system can be limited and I recommend upgrading to Windows 11 if your device meets the requirements.
To help narrow down the cause, please check the download notification in Edge. After the download is blocked, select the Downloads icon (the downward arrow) near the top-right corner of the browser and look for any additional details.
Download failures can occur when SmartScreen, antivirus software, browser security settings or website restrictions block the file.
You can also test whether Edge's security protection is responsible for the block:
SmartScreen sometimes is identified as a common cause of blocked downloads.
It would also be helpful to know more about the file being downloaded.
As another quick test, try the same download in a different browser.
If possible, please share a screenshot of the complete error message or download warning, along with the file type being downloaded and whether the same download works in another browser. Before posting, please remove or obscure any personal information, account details, website credentials, website URLs, or other sensitive information. This information will help narrow down the cause of the issue.
