Concept Proposal: Teams Universal AI Interpreter

2026-07-24T13:24:15.8833333+00:00

Hello Microsoft Teams Product Team,

I would like to share a product concept that came to mind while reflecting on the future of AI-powered collaboration.

Concept: Teams Universal AI Interpreter

Current AI translation and interpretation features are already a major step forward. However, I believe there is an opportunity to move toward an experience where language becomes practically invisible during meetings.

Vision:

Every participant speaks naturally in their native language.

Every participant hears everyone else in their own language.

The AI understands context, tone, technical terminology, and conversation flow, making communication feel as natural as if everyone spoke the same language.

Potential benefits include:

• Removing language barriers from global collaboration

• Expanding access to international job opportunities

• Increasing inclusion and diversity

• Improving productivity in multinational organizations

• Reducing dependency on human interpreters for many business scenarios

This is not a report of a missing feature, but rather a Concept Proposal for the future evolution of Microsoft Teams.

I recently wrote an article expanding this idea and would be honored if the product team found the concept interesting.

Thank you for your time and for continuously pushing the future of collaboration.

Best regards,

Dear @Ester Cescon da Silva Bernardino,

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Based on your description, I understand that you would like to propose a future Microsoft Teams capability called "Teams Universal AI Interpreter," where participants can speak naturally in their native language while AI interprets conversations in real time, allowing each attendee to hear communication in their preferred language. Your vision focuses on making language barriers virtually invisible and enabling more inclusive, productive, and seamless global collaboration.

Regarding this, the best way to ensure your idea is reviewed by the appropriate teams is to submit it through the Microsoft Feedback Portal.

When submitting feedback, I recommend including:

    • A summary of the concept
    • The business value and customer benefits
    • Real-world use cases
    • Any supporting articles, research, or examples you have developed
    • How this vision differs from or enhances existing translation and interpretation capabilities

Please note that I am not involved in product design decisions and do not have direct access to the development roadmap, I want to assure you that your feedback has been acknowledged and is valued.

I appreciate you for sharing this innovative idea.

Thank you for your kindness and understanding!
