I can't log in to the Azure portal.

I can't log in to the Azure portal. I can log in everywhere with my @windowslive.com address, and the two-step authenticator login works, but it won't let me log in to the Azure portal at all, the phone won't pop up the authenticator. The authenticator code on my phone is 8 digits, but on the portal it asks for 6 digits. It even let me register for a new Azure portal, but it won't let me log in anymore. I was actively using the portal 2 years ago, now I don't know why it won't let me log in.

It sounds like your account may be using a different authentication method than expected. The 8-digit code shown in Microsoft Authenticator is typically for passwordless sign-in, whereas Azure sign-in may be expecting a 6-digit TOTP verification code or a push notification, depending on how MFA is configured.

A few things to try:

Sign in via https://portal.azure.com using your Microsoft account (@windowslive.com).
If you're prompted for MFA but don't receive a notification, select "Sign in another way" to choose a different verification method.
Check your security settings at https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info to verify your registered authentication methods.
If you no longer have access to your registered MFA methods, you'll need to follow the MFA recovery process or contact your Azure AD (Microsoft Entra ID) administrator if the account belongs to an organization.
