Hi, SunnyG
This looks less like something you are saying wrong and more like a dictation/voice typing glitch, possibly caused by microphone processing, auto-correction, or two voice features listening at the same time.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
First, check whether both Voice Typing and Voice Access are running. If you use Windows + H for dictation, turn off Voice Access temporarily by going to Settings, Accessibility, Speech, then switch Voice Access off. Having more than one speech tool active can cause repeated or duplicated text.
Next, it is recommended that you turn off microphone audio enhancements. Go to Settings, System, Sound, select your microphone under Input, then open its properties and turn Audio enhancements off if that option appears. This has helped with repeated dictation text in similar cases, especially where Windows is processing the microphone input twice.
Also try turning Automatic punctuation off and back on from the voice typing settings gear, then restart Word or the app you are dictating into. If you are on a Copilot+ PC, also try turning off Fluid dictation from the same voice typing settings.
Finally, test in Notepad. If it happens there too, update Windows and restart. If it only happens in Word or Outlook, update Office from File, Account, Update Options.
Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
