There's nothing wrong with your name.

The moderation is performed by AI. There's a reason why it's called 'artificial' intelligence.

Your only recourse may be to invent a name for yourself that the AI likes

MSN article comments, including name and account restrictions, are controlled entirely by MSN’s own moderation systems, not by Windows, Microsoft Edge, or general Microsoft account settings.

When an MSN profile or name is flagged as invalid or restricted, it is usually due to automated moderation rules on the MSN side (for example, filters that incorrectly classify certain words or combinations as not allowed). These rules are not visible or adjustable from Microsoft Edge, Windows 11, or standard Microsoft account pages, and this forum cannot see or change how MSN evaluates a specific name.

The only supported way to question or appeal an MSN restriction on comments or profile/name usage is to use the MSN feedback mechanism directly on an MSN page:

    1. Open any MSN article page where comments appear.
    2. At the bottom right of the MSN page, select the Feedback option.
    3. In the feedback form, explain that the account is blocked from commenting and that the name (for example, “gary hart”) is being treated as invalid or against community standards, even though it is the legal name.
    4. Include approximate dates when the restriction started and note that comments previously worked.
    5. Submit the feedback so the MSN team can review the account and how moderation is handling the name.

There is no separate technical support channel for MSN comment/name moderation through Microsoft Q&A, Learn, or Edge/Windows support. Resolution depends on MSN’s internal moderation and feedback review.
