Recovering saved passwords after clearing browsing history

Clearing browsing history in Microsoft Edge does not automatically delete saved passwords unless the Passwords option was selected when clearing data.

To check whether passwords are still available and view them:

1. Open Microsoft Edge.
2. Select Settings and more (the three dots) > Settings.
3. Select Profiles > Passwords.
4. In the Saved passwords section, review the list. Select the eye icon next to a password (and authenticate if prompted) to view it.

If passwords were deleted when clearing browsing data (by selecting Passwords), they cannot be recovered from Edge.

For future use, to clear browsing data without removing passwords:

1. Go to Settings and more > Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
2. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear.
3. Ensure Passwords is not checked when clearing data.
4. Optionally configure Choose what to clear every time you close the browser and leave Passwords unchecked.
