How to stop Wi-Fi from dropping during PC sleep when Windows power saving options are missing?

My office PC loses its Wi-Fi connection whenever it enters sleep or standby mode, then reconnects after waking. Older troubleshooting guides recommend disabling the network adapter power-saving option, but that setting is missing in newer Windows versions. Current change applied: Set the wireless adapter power mode to minimum power saving in the active power plan. Question: If Wi-Fi still disconnects during standby, which additional Windows settings can keep the network connection active while the PC is sleeping?

    Hi Isolde Wintershade

If your hardware does support Modern Standby, you can force the system to maintain network connectivity using the Local Group Policy Editor. You will need to navigate through Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, System, Power Management, and finally Sleep Settings. Inside this directory, locate and enable the policies named Allow network connectivity during connected-standby for both the plugged-in and battery states. If you are using a Home edition of Windows without access to group policies, you can achieve the exact same result by modifying the registry. You would navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Power\PowerSettings\f15576e8-98b7-4186-b944-eafa664402d9 and set the ACSettingIndex and DCSettingIndex values to one.
